What We Do
The Lee’s Summit Ministerial Alliance serves its community in four distinct ways, guided by the energy and prayerful discernment of our member congregations and community partners.
Monthly Leader Meeting
Each month, clergy and ministry leaders gather for prayer, community updates, and event planning. These meetings ordinarily meet on the second Thursday of each month, September through May, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
For the 2025-2026 program year, meetings took place at Pro Deo youth center.
The first meeting of the 2026 program year, our Reunion Gathering, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 10 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church downtown from 9:00-10:30 AM.

Public Worship
The LSMA is pleased to host a number of ecumenical services of worship each year. Hosted by member congregations, these services are opened to the public for their participation, and designed to include people of all denominations.
Thanksgiving Service
Week of Christian Unity Service
Good Friday Worship
Baccalaureate, honoring graduates of all three Lee’s Summit high schools and more
Community Partner Witness
Lee’s Summit is filled with amazing non-profits and helpers in many contexts. We are proud to include many of them in our monthly gatherings, and to share news of good things happening in our community. Member congregations share updates from these ministry partners with their own members, and the LSMA often publicizes events our partners are hosting publicly, too. These partnerships are life-giving, and we are grateful for the witness they provide to our city.
Community Based Assistance
The LSMA hosts a listserv that connects our member congregations as they seek to assist those in need in our community. If someone requests rent, utility, or other forms of assistance, congregations can collaborate to provide wholistic help. Our organization also provides gas and grocery gifts cards to our member congregations to give to anyone who might walk into their churches looking for assistance- this is where a majority of our funds go each year!
Annual Fundraiser
Our annual fundraiser has recently been a fun Culver’s Night! These funds are used primarily for community assistance in our member congregations; a small portion goes to supporting the administrative costs of the organization, too. Be on the lookout for publicity related to our next one.
